Default How to write Qara'aa?

In regards to pot: http://www.lqtoronto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2340

No, it is not a typo.

There are two schools with regard to the spelling of this and similar words. In قَرَأَ the hamzah is in the final position, so it is written according to the rules of writing of the final hamzah. But in قَرَأُوا it is no longer in the final position. So, should it be regarded as the final hamzah or medial. One school says it is in the final position because the pronoun is a temporary addition. The other school regards it medial as its position has changed after the addition of the pronoun. So each school writes it according to its interpretation.

Hope this is clear.

Wassalam,

abdur rahim
