Question Question regarding the weak verb خاف

As-Salamu alaikum beloved brothers and sisters

The weak verb خاف is from the ajwaf group and it belongs to the baab samia, but looking at the mudari doesn't reveal what letter the alif has been transformed from.

What is the explanation of this?

Going trough the entire conjugation, not in a single place does the original weak letter come out.

May Allah (swt) protect you!

Your brother in Islam

Waalaikum As-salaam.
There is no rule.
Some time you have to consult the dictionary or else look for massdar.
In this case the massdar is خَوفٌ.
Wassalaam
