Question Lesson 28 exercise 1, question regarding يَدْعُوَ

As-Salamu alaikum dear brothers and sisters

In lesson 28, exercise 1, question number 6, in which Dr. Abdur Rahim asks why Mahmoud bought the sweets, the answer in both the "solutions book" and from our Dear Uncle Asif in the video, is:

لِأَنَّهُ يُرِيْدُ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ

i.e. with fatha on waw.

But according to both "An intermediate dictionary of verb conjugation" and Uncle Asif in the previous video (14A) there should be sukun on the waw, like this:

يَدْعُوْ

Is the "fatha" a mistake in both the solutions and by Uncle Asif or is there some explanation for this?

May Allah (swt) protect you!

Your brother Naim

Wa'alaikumussalam brother Naim.

Masdar muawwal = أَنْ + mansub verb. That's why the verb here is mansub (يَدْعُوَ)

BarakAllahufik dear brother!

I have been so preoccupied with verb conjugation that I forgot all about that

For anyone who might make the same mistake: Re-read the key for lesson 17 and 18 in book 2.
