Naat Manout?

Last line of page 36 in Book 3 - Lesson 3.

Is المقترن naat for العلم?

If no - then why المقترن is majrur?

If yes - then why it's not coming before the MANOUT in below translation.

Alif and Laam is dropped from the NAME JOINED with them near nida.

Hope this translation is good?

Al-Muqtarin is a na't. And it is majroor. I understand it in this way:
The alif and laam is dropped ... from the 'attached name' with those 2 letters ... at the time we use nidaa.

Brother Asif translated a similar sentence from Book 3 - Lesson 4 - Page 42 - Line 9.

Translation: Can you mention the hadees which is mentioned...

Conclusion: Translation of last line of page 36 in Book 3 - Lesson 3 would be as following.

The alif and laam is dropped from the name which is joined with both near an-nida.

Though have found a partial answer - but I'm sure story does not end here.

Because it looks like Naat-Manout and Brother Asif has used the word "Which" in the translation, which indicates there is something else involved and MAHZOOF perhaps, and probably it will be explained in coming lessons.

When I was typing the answer, I too was thinking that lets put "which is attached" in the translation. But for some reason I didnt do that. Actually sometimes we just interpret the meaning to our brothers. And we assume that after getting the interpretation they will then directly understand the sentence in arabic.

Just to make it more easy for you. We know that na't is actually the quality of man'oot. And we also know the way to write quality of man'oot in arabic. It matches in gender, in Definiteness etc etc. But what if we want to write it in english? How will we make others to understand that we are actually telling you the quality? To make this easy we search for some void words which make others think that this is a quality. Keeping this in mind we translate the word Al-Muqtarin as "which is joined" but not as "joined". The words "which is" is just a support to tell others that this is a quality.

So we have two ways of expressing the same idea.

1. I have the BLUE PEN.

2. I have the PEN which is BLUE.

If you have an Arabic statement of na't/manoot in front of you then you will say "I have a BLUE PEN", because this is the most appropriate translation. But if you are thinking that this translation will confuse your friend then you can say "I have a PEN which is BLUE". It will then help him to get that arabic sentence. We do this for teaching purpose so that on can understand Arabic with the help of English.
