Default Ira'ab

Salam,

وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَاةٍ وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا

What is the Ira'ab of أَحْرَصَ in this sentence??

This is a Quranic verse -- [2:96]. So hopefully, brothers who have access to “Noor ul yaqin” will be able to help you.

I think, this superlative word (Ahrasu = the greediest) is mansub (Ahrasa), because it is mafulun bihi of the corresponding verb.

SRB,

it is indeed:
  • a superlative form because on the pattern af3al (meaning "the most greedy"). That's also the reason why the word coming after "al-nasi" is majroûr (mudaf-ilaihi. Book 2).
  • mansoûb because it is (the 2nd) maf3oûl bihi of the verb "la-tajida-na-houm"
