Assalamualaikum,
Jazakallahu khairan for this beautiful website and for offering everything free of charge. Alhamdulillah, I'm on book 2 video 4a and his explanation is just so great. I had an idea about another class. I studied quranic arabic using Access to quranic arabic series by Abdul Wahid Hamid and found it really brilliantly put together. I think it would be a very great service to have Br. Asif teach a class using those lessons, as they are perfect for reviewing all the rules from the 3 madinah books. There are 40 short lessons of grammar and a whole workbook and selections from quran. It would be so perfect to use that to learn the Quranic arabic. Jzk, Waseem |

wa 'alaykumus salaam wa raHmatullaah Brother Waseem
Thanks for your suggestion. Some years ago, I studied the workbook and selections from the Course named "Access to Qur'anic Arabic". May Allaah reward the author for his hard work and efforts. I myself would highly recommend to the students of the Madinah Books (and those whose knowledge of Arabic is equivalent to it) what is (I believe) a more superior, thorough and diverse course of Qur'aanic Arabic - and one which has a direct connection to the Madinah Books for consolidating and extending the knowledge and skills gained from them : "Selections From the Glorious Qur'aan With Lexical and Grammatical Notes And Explanatory DVDs (36 lessons taught by the Shaykh himself) An Advanced Course For Those Who have Completed (or whose knowledge equals) the 3 Madinah Books Written and Taught By Shaykh Dr. V. Abdur Rahim I found this Qur’aanic Selections Course to contain profound knowledge and rare insights into the lexical and grammatical details of Qur’aanic Arabic which our Shaykh explains clearly and beautifully via the selected aayaat. The DVDs make the course more momentous as they provide students and teachers - be they at home or in study circles, colleges, universities, public libraries etc - with many precious, blessed sittings to learn directly from a Scholar of Arabic - our Shaykh - and enjoy his expertise and company. My sincere thanks to Brother Yusuf and the support team at LQToronto for these opportunities you have given us - bi-idhnillaah - and for the hard work and sacrifice that was put into this unique project. And my deep thanks to - and much du'aa for - our Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahim (may Allaah preserve him). Al-Hamdulillaah, I completed the Course feeling content and richly loaded with Qur'aanic treasures. jazaakumullaahu khayra l-jazaa'i. Brothers and Sisters - follow this link for a brief review of the Course and an extract from one of the lessons : http://www.lqtoronto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=463 The Course (book and DVDs) is absolutely free and can be downloaded from here : http://www.lqtoronto.com/downloads.html Wassalaam Last edited by Aaishah; 10-08-2010 at 01:05 PM. |

AOA
I have downloaded the pdf book and all DVD videos and started as advised. However, the book contains 8 lessons as apposed to 36 mentioned in above post. Are there 8 lessons or 36 originally? and if later is the case where the remaining lessons could be found? Imran |

Waalykum assalaam,
There are only 8 lessons. I believe they where recorded in 36 segments. Wasalam |
